I would like to thank you for your personal invitation to participate in the “On the Way to Sulha 2004” gathering.
The opening ceremony in which I stood on stage beside Dr. Sari Nusseibeh before a crowd of thousands of people of every age, gender, sector, and especially, religion was very moving for me.
I saw before me a crowd of people with a belief in peace, a belief in dialogue, and a belief in the strong need to take action, here and now, with no further delay.
At “On the Way to Sulha” gatherings, I encounter a different type of activity, rare and special, for the advancement of peace, and for recognizing the other, that is so important – in these crazy times more than ever.
I support you and all of the participants in this important project and wish you great success in your activities in the coming year.
Hopefully the multitude of peace and tremendous vision that I encountered at “On the Way to Sulha 2004” will grow and be strengthened, and will bring a new and different voice to Israel of 2005.
