We are proud to have been representing Sulha Peace Project,as trainers( lee ziv and gabriel meyer) in a very transformative and powerful week at a youth peace camp in Europa Park sponsored by the Council of Europe in its sixth year. more....
There were 35 participants between the ages of 18-22 and represented 3 different areas of intense conflict:'
Middle East: Israel/Palestine - Balkans: Serbia /Albania - Caucausus mountains: Georgia/Abhazia.
Due to visa constrains we ended up not having the Abhazian group and eventually had 5 delegations of seven participants and two trainers each. .
The Palestinian delegation was led by Jallal khudairy/parents circle & al tariq, one of sulha & sulhita closest partners.Two of the Palestinian participants - shadi and alá are directly connected to both the parents circle and al tariq.
Out of the seven participants of the Israeli delegation three of them( alex, ketoret,nir- eventually became sulhita trainer) are graduates of the sulhita youth project and another two( tai,hadas) are directly connected to sulha family core members and have been active participants at our annual sulha gatherings.
The result of this intense week of conflict resolution, identity ,gender and tolerance process was apparent in the deep personal relationships created between participants and the decision to continue in specific hands on projects at an international and local & binational levels spreading the culture of coexistance , trust and the knowledge ot the other.
